The pavilion design is based on a series of ruled surfaces that meet at the center to form a canopy. Straight bamboo pieces span across each ruled surface, and ropes are woven around the pieces to hold them in place. The form of the canopy's underside is softened by a series of bent bamboo sticks, which are also tightened with ropes to secure them in place. Overall, the design objective is to create a geometrically and formally complex canopy using basic geometric principles and materials.
